Our Clinical Neuropsychologists have particular skills in assessing and working with the cognitive (thinking) problems that commonly occur with neural damage. The areas of focus include looking at specific skills such as reading, writing and numeracy as well as planning and organising abilities, orientation in time and place, object and people recognition skills and the many facets of memory impairments alongside influences such as concentration and behavioural changes.
Coping strategies and reactions are also addressed and in many cases the valuable information gleaned during neuropsychological assessment gives a framework within which the entire therapy, nursing and care team operate with an individual also extending to inclusion of family, friends and the individual themselves where appropriate.
All of our therapists are registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked, in addition they undertake many hours of continuing professional development each year, much of which is supported by Neural Pathways.
